The James Bay Series

I live in a small Northern Michigan town where my life is an open book. Let’s face it. There aren’t many secrets in a town with only two traffic lights. My James Bay series (Fatty Patty, Home Fires, Lotto Lucy, and For I Have Sinned) is loosely based on the different communities and the comings and goings of people found throughout Northern Michigan. I wrote two other novels, The Other Wife and Royal Secrets, which don’t take place in James Bay, but honestly? I missed the people! Patty Perreault and Sam; Rose Gallagher and Fireman Mike; Lucy Carter and Max… they’re all very real to me, and still alive in my heart and head.

And let’s not forget Fr. Greg. Of all the characters living in James Bay, the beloved local Catholic priest is the one readers repeatedly ask me about. ‘What happened to Fr. Greg? Did he leave the priesthood? Did he end up with Lila?’ Good questions! Since I’d like to know the answers too, I’ve decided to take us back to James Bay in my next book (tentative release date: spring of 2017 ). The story is about Chuck (he owns Chuck’s Tavern and Grill, where the locals hang out and the Friday night all-you-can-eat fish fries border on legendary) and his 20-something daughter Katie, who helps her dad runs the restaurant. I’m looking forward to returning to James Bay. I hope you are too! Hopefully we’ll get all our questions answered!
