10 Fun Facts on Vegas Weddings

You’re got the guy and the ring. Congratulations! Now it’s time for the day you’ve dreamed of all your life. A big, splashy wedding. A drop-dead gorgeous gown (Vera Wang? Pnina Tornai? Jenny Packham?) A reception with free-flowing champagne and a scrumptious buffet. Calories? Who cares? It’s your wedding day, right?

Then reality sets in. Your family (or you and your fiancee) can’t afford the lavish affair you’ve always dreamed of. Worse, there’s family in-fighting. No one agrees on anything. Your future in-laws hate you. Your mom insists on inviting her 10-siblings plus all the cousins, leaving no room for your friends. What’s a bride to do? No worries. There’s a way to have your wedding, just the way you want it:

Elope to Las Vegas!

What better place than to start your life together than in the city that never sleeps. We’re talking Vegas, baby! Read on for 10 Fun Facts About Vegas Weddings:

#10

Las Vegas Hotels

No problem finding a hotel room. 15 of the world’s 25 largest hotels are in Vegas (most located on the famous Las Vegas Strip). That means you have more than 62,000 hotel rooms to choose from. Best of all, many of the rooms in 4 and 5 star hotels are way cheaper than you’d find back home.  After all, this is Vegas!

#9

Vegas Wedding Chapels

There are over 300 weddings per day in Las Vegas, making it the #1 wedding destination spot in the U.S.A.  And with so many weddings going on, there are plenty of wedding chapels to choose from. Click the link above to find the chapel of your dreams.

#8

High Roller Ferris Wheel in Las Vegas

Caesar’s recently opened their famous High Roller: The World’s Tallest Observation Wheel. At 550 feet, you’re guaranteed a spectacular view of the Vegas landscape. There are 28 fully enclosed glass cabins, which take 30 minutes for a full revolution. Hold hands, kiss, and enjoy the view!

  An Elvis Wedding

Get married by Elvis (or have him ‘waltz’ you down the aisle!)

 #6

Lights of Las Vegas

The Vegas Strip is the brightest place on earth, when seen from outer space. That’s because Vegas is a city that never sleeps. So, if you’re looking for something to do (which you obviously WON’T be doing; after all, this IS your honeymoon!), it’s a guarantee you’ll find something open at any time of day or night.

#5

Vegas Casino Slot Machines

Try your luck at gambling. Vegas casinos have great pay-outs on their slot machines. One man playing the slots at the Excalibur put in a $100 chip, pulled the lever and got a $35,000,000 pay-out (largest in the city’s history). Win that kind of money, and it’s guaranteed the casino/hotel will comp you your honeymoon suite in the exclusive high-rollers’ club!

#4

Drive-Thru Wedding Chapels

The “Limo Lovers Lip-Lockers Special”? Get married in a drive-thru wedding chapel!

#3

Wedding Couple at Caesar's Palace

Where else in the world can you take your pick of being married in Paris, Venice, Rome (Caesar’s Palace), New York, Luxor (Egypt) or Rio? Las Vegas has them all!

#2

Take The Plunge!

Celebrate ‘taking the plunge’ by jumping off the Stratosphere Tower. At 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is the world’s tallest free-standing structure in the U.S. There’s a platform at the top where you can sky jump. (Note: before you take the plunge, make sure to sign up your new spouse as beneficiary of your life insurance policy!)

#1Bridal Couple Dancing on the Las Vegas Strip

Celebrate the two of you!

Whether it’s with a Gondola Ride at the beautiful Venetian Hotel,

dancing in the evening breeze to the music of the Bellagio Fountains,

taking in the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower,

or relaxing poolside, Vegas is what you make of it.

Who cares if you do all ten or none of these suggestions.

It’s your wedding, your honeymoon, and your time to enjoy!

Congratulations!

Oh the memories! I simply love Vegas, the shopping is fantastic, hubby lives the casino, the shows to see, the weather, need I say more! 2 years and I hope to be back there, after all a coffee date is waiting there for me! Great story Kathleen

Hi Janine, thanks for stopping by to chat! I love Vegas, too… and it helps that my daughter and her family now live there (well, actually in Henderson, but that’s close enough. 🙂 ) The weather IS fantastic, and there’s so much to see and do. For me, the best thing (besides being w/family) is the people-watching. Love to sit and observe what others are up to. Lots of fodder for future books that way! And yes, we absolutely are going to keep that coffee date… looking forward to it! ~ Kathleen
